Frequently Asked Questions

Although we do look after couples who wish to learn how to chart for avoiding conceptions and health, these FAQs are most relevant for couples who are looking for support with infertility or miscarriage.

Are you a medical clinic?

No, we are not a medical clinic.

We are fertility awareness advisors, with 10+ years of experience teaching couples how to conceive naturally with fertility charting.

Our advisors have had extensive training in the Creighton Model FertilityCare System and the newer Neo Fertility method, which is more relevant for our infertility and miscarriage couples whose fertility charts are usually not so normal (at least to begin with!).

We now exclusively teach the Neo Fertility method, which is medically relevant and an integrated part of the clinical diagnosis and treatment by the doctors at Neo Fertility clinic in Dublin.

While we cannot diagnose or treat couples ourselves, we can identify and interpret signs on their fertility charts that may be of clinical concern. Only a medical doctor can diagnose properly.

We have a good idea of what is normal and not normal on our fertility charts. We would usually refer our clients to the Neo Fertility clinic in Ireland when there are signs of concern revealed by their charts.

Examples include abnormal bleeding/spotting, very heavy period (requiring a change in protection every 1-2 hours, or needing double protection overnight), limited cervical mucus or dry cycles.

We teach couples how to chart well so we can all gain a good understanding of their fertility cycle, and therefore their reproductive health.

We are interested in a range of parameters, including average cycle length, average number of mucus days, mucus quality and quality, number of spotting days before period, number of brown bleeding days at the end of the period, number of days before and after ovulation.

Our fundamental mission and goal are genuine reproductive health for all.

Why do you refer your clients to Neo Fertility?

We are advocates of restorative reproductive medicine, or RRM, which diagnoses and treats patients using a restorative approach.

We have worked with the owner of Neo Fertility, Dr Phil Boyle, for many years.

In our opinion, Neo Fertility offers the best chance of success for our couples who wish to achieve pregnancy using non-IVF and non-invasive treatments. You can read more about the clinic's success rates here vs IVF.

In addition, many of our couples come to us to find answers as to why they are not getting pregnant or miscarriaging. They are not satisfied with the term "unexplained infertility".

Many couples have come to us for ethical reasons.

Patients of Neo Fertility will generally find better reproductive health and well-being in general as they pursue their treatments.

When would you refer couples to Neo Fertility?

While we review each couple's charts, age and lifestyle individually, we would refer couples in the following categories to Neo Fertility as soon as possible:

  • For any woman who are 40+ years old

  • For any couples with a history of recurrent miscarriage

  • For those who are under 35 but have a very long history (>1 year) of trying without getting pregnant

  • For any women who have known medical conditions such as PCOS

  • For any women whose charts have clear abnormal signs

  • For any couples with unique medical history and/or situation that deserve medical attention and care.

Finally for anyone else with normal fertility charts, have used their fertile window effectively for 6 cycles but are still not pregnant by the end of the 6 cycles

Do we have to go to Dublin for our medical consultations?

No. All consultations will be done online via video call.

Do we have to go to my fertility advisor in person?

No. All sessions will be done online via video call.

Where do we go for blood tests?

Blood tests will usually be done locally where you live or work.

Your fertility can request your GP to sponsor your blood tests on the NHS.

However, if your GP does not agree to the request, then Neo Fertility has special discounted rates to The Doctors Laboratory (TDL). We can send you the kit and you will need to find a local phlebotomist (additional costs on top of TDL charges) to perform the venous blood sampling locally.

How do we obtain our prescriptions?

You can obtain your prescription from our preferred UK pharmacy based in London at very competitive prices.

Where do we go for follicle tracking ultrasound scans?

This is a self-referral service and you can go anywhere.

We do keep a list of scanning places so please ask your fertility advisor for your options.

They are currently around £130 per scan in London.

Usually, you will be asked by Neo Fertility to do 2 ultrasounds for follicle tracking for a single cycle only.

If we start with fertility advisory first then do we have to pay for our Initial Medical Consultation at Neo Fertility?

The simple answer is no.

If you start with us first then we will aim to complete Phase 1 for Neo Fertility. This includes:

  1. 2-3 cycles of charting

  2. Baseline blood tests for the woman: 1x Day3 blood profiles, 2 cycles of Peak+7 Progesterone & Oestrodial.

  3. Baseline semen analysis for the man.

You can book with Neo Fertility to commence Phase 2 ahead of time, saving you €250.

Is your focus only on the woman? What about the man?

While it is true that our time and efforts are mostly on the woman, it is because woman's fertility is cyclical, but man's fertility stays (usually) the same, all day every day!

For infertility or miscarriage support - a baseline semen analysis at the initial months of charting will be used to identify any issues with the male client.

For the older male clients, a DNA Fragmentation Index may also be needed by the clinic.

While Neo Fertility has a treatment plan for man's subfertility, we also partner with a niche healthcare herbalist who is specialised in male infertility, who can offer a one-size-fit-all food supplement as well as a personalised solution for all of our clients at a discounted rate.

Why will I still need an advisor if there is the Chart Neo app?

While the Chart Neo app can be used without the support of a fertility advisor, i.e. on a solo basis, you will be more successful with a fertility advisor as your partner, especially at the beginning of your journey.

Our fertility advisors are there to help you become more fertility-aware. We offer you what the app cannot, namely a body of knowledge on how to interpret and harness the data in the app correctly to conceive or to avoid pregnancies.

Some of the key topics we cover in our sessions include:

  • Human reproductive health - what is normal and not normal.

  • How to observe and record your fertility observations correctly

  • How to interpret your fertility observations

  • If you are trying to conceive, with or without treatment - the techniques and tips that have been tried and tested.

  • If you are trying to avoid pregnancies naturally - the Avoiding instructions that will help you harness your infertile days correctly.

In addition, our subscription clients receive our continuous time-sensitive support throughout their cycles.

We ensure that all charts are done correctly. This is particularly important for those clients who are patients with Neo Fertility. A correct chart is fundamental for taking their timed medication and blood tests.

We support our client's journey wherever they are at, and for whatever goal. Many of our couples on treatment keep their infertility or miscarriage journey and sufferings private to themselves. As fertility advisors we are able to listen to them and walk with them closely. They are no longer alone in suffering.

We are advocates for natural remedies and health solutions regarding fertility. While we are selective in our offering and partnerships, we do work closely with a handful of niche complementary healthcare practitioners. We can able to offer deeper discounts to our clients for our partner's services than what our clients can achieve by going to our partners directly.

We are not still not sure. What would you suggest?

We do offer a 30 minutes discovery call free of charge so we could discuss your situation and how we (together with Neo Fertility if required) can help you.

You can book your free discovery call by clicking here.
